Chapter I: Drag Racing, Ep. 2

In Chapter 1, Episode 2, the mark up by mediaverse goes to the streets, specifically southeast Memphis. Co-host Melonee Gaines interviews longtime residents Dante and Loren, who experienced firsthand the unexpected dangers of reckless street racing crashing onto their property in the middle of the night in early May 2021. Facing over $20,000 in damages, the conversation centers on the need for street and traffic safety for a community at the intersection of suburban, industrial, and stateline traffic.

This car landed in the Dante and Loren’s yard. The couple has lived in the Autumn Ridge neighborhood since 1999 and they have experienced more than 30 incidents just like this, leaving them to foot the bill for repairs.
